That can't be wrong. Good luck with the campaign, as with the current bunch of stubborn fools in power, it's very hard to get them to change any idea they have decided on, no matter how obviously stupid it is.

If I decide to try to get Tiddley Winks included, I will be back to ask for some help!

In response to:Olympic bid for shooting at the 2012 London Olympics.

Yes, I can see where you are going with the horse jumping point. Certainly shooting involves very different skills to staying on a horse whilst moving at speed and jumping over increasingly high walls.

BUT ! you said that you admire the skills of expert marksmen, then surely if millions are going to be spent on building and then demolishing a shooting venue in Woolwich, why not spend the same (or less) money on developing one of the many current shooting venues around London and turn it into a permanent, lasting, post olympics facility that continue to hone the skills of those highly skilled markesmen and women.

As for tiddlywinks, well if it were an olympic sport and in the same situation as shooting, where only a temporary venue was being constructed, to contain what I can only imagine as a very large cup into which competitors have to flick their tiddlys! Then the same argument stands. Why waste money on a temporary venue, make it permanent so there can be a lasting legacy which is what the Olympics is supposed to be all about. for the Olympic

In response to:Olympic bid for shooting at the 2012 London Olympics.

I understand it's an activity that has many enthusiasts, but I think I see a difference between shooting and the high jump, to take a quickly chosen example.
I am sure shooting has a place as a competitive event, and I admire the skills of expert marksmen, but... you knew I was going to say "but", didn't you.
